Tyre Safety is not something we like to take lightly. We aim to check each tyres that passes though our workshop – this is to ensure that you have the safest driving experience on the road for you and your family.
If a tyre needs changing we will tell you your legal requirement to do so, our simple aim is to make you safe not out of pocket.
Penalties for driving a vehicle without legal tyres are quite severe, for every office there is a fine leveled, a level 4 offence in punishable with disqualification and compulsory endorsement of three points. This can result in a fine of upto £10,000 for four faulty tyres
The Legality
Tread Depth – a tyre worn below 1.6mm.
Mixing Tyre types – having a mixture of radial and cross ply tyres.
Cuts & lumps – certain long & deep cuts cause extreme damage to the tyre structure lumps, bulges or tears caused by separation or partial failure of the tyre structure.
